Behind the blends
A love of herbs, a trip to Los Angeles and a simple idea: herbal tinctures belong in everyday life, not hidden on a pharmacy shelf.

It started in the kitchen
I'm Fleur, and I'm a cook by trade. Before Blooming Blends, I ran a food delivery business making freshly cooked, organic meals for new mums and dads.
While learning which foods are most nourishing in those early weeks of parenthood, I fell in love with herbs. Drawing on Ayurvedic principles and traditional Chinese medicine, I slow-cooked stews and gentle dishes with herbs that have been traditionally used for centuries. The more I learned, the more fascinated I became.
A discovery in Los Angeles
On a trip to visit my sister in LA, I noticed tinctures everywhere. People reached for them as naturally as a cup of tea. I loved how simple they were: a few drops under the tongue or in a little water, with no brewing and no big tablets to swallow (something I've never enjoyed).
Back home in the UK, tinctures were hard to find. They sat in obscure corners of specialist shops, often with very little information to help you choose. I wanted to change that.

To make herbal tinctures second nature.
Creating the blends
In 2018 I founded Blooming Blends from my home in the Norfolk countryside. I was lucky enough to meet an experienced medical herbalist, and together we developed each formula around a moment of need: winding down in the evening, finding a moment of calm, mealtimes, busy days and changing seasons.
Every blend starts with whole herbs. We use alcohol to draw out their natural constituents, then gently evaporate it away and finish each tincture with naturally sweet glycerine from UK-grown rapeseed. The result is smooth, alcohol-free drops that are easy to take, without the harsh taste of traditional tinctures.
Our tinctures are made in small batches in the UK, and our Nighttime, Calm and Digestion blends are certified organic by the Soil Association (GB-ORG-05).
Where we are today
What began as my personal love of botanicals has grown into a collection of award-winning herbal tinctures. We've now sold over 10,000 bottles, and you'll find our blends in leading wellness retailers, hotels and spas, as well as here on our website.
I still oversee every blend with the same care I started with. Herbs have always been part of my life. This is my way of bringing them into yours.
